What are the ingredients of the supplement? Your body doesn’t have the enzymes to directly absorb glutathione from the intestine. In order for glutathione to be absorbed, it must be accompanied by N-Acetyl Cysteine. I looked at the ingredients of this "shiseido glutathione" and it doesn’t have any of this. It just has a bunch of other vitamins and things you don’t need to absorb glutathione.

It’s also feasible to increase glutathione levels by simply making sure you’re getting enough cysteine in your diet. This is one of the critical amino acids from which glutathione is made.

I don’t really think glutathione is a bad thing to take – i.e. you don’t necessarily have to wait until you’re 18 – glutathione is something your body makes naturally on it’s own.

I also wouldn’t say you really NEED your body to make extra glutathione for anything in particular, but I guess it has promise with respect to the research that’s been done.

    Hope this helps!
