I read that Mangosteen might help against Liver Cancer (hepatocellular carcinoma), because it has xanthone which has potent cytotoxic effect against hepatocellular carcinoma cell lines. As per: http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/sites/entrez?db=pubmed&cmd=Retrieve&dopt=AbstractPlus&list_uids=12451486&query_hl=1&itool=pubmed_docsum
Mom has HCC and she is on Nexavar, if she takes Magosteen juice can it reduce the effect of Nexavar?
I was bit worried as I read in:
http://www.cancer.org/docroot/ETO/content/ETO_5_3x_Mangosteen_Juice.asp?sitearea=ETO

Because of antioxidant effects, mangosteen supplements might interfere with radiation therapy or chemotherapy, possibly making these treatments less effective.

I think that it’s worth a shot drinking it. I doubt that any drink could have any effect on chemo. I mean, it can’t be that strong. Unless they specifically tell you not to drink that juice, go right ahead.

I would post this question under Health and Diseases. This section is for questions about coffee, tea, and coke. good luck.
